# Offer tiers

**Offer tiers** recommend CLV (customer lifetime value) discount bands from your Shopify orders—for example **$0 – under $50 → 5%**, **$50 – under $100 → 10%**, **$100+ → 15%**—and let unsubscribe pages **share** those bands instead of setting dynamic discount rules on every page.

---

## Who can use it?

- A **connected Shopify store** is required to open Offer Tiers, save bands, run analysis, and apply them to pages. That dashboard work does not require a subscription.
- Live unsubscribe pages and [publishing](./billing-account.md) still follow your team’s billing status.
- Order data in Last Chance is needed so recommendations have evidence. You can still save **manual** bands before orders finish syncing.

---

## Where to find it

1. Open the **Dashboard**.
2. Under **Retention**, choose **Offer Tiers** (or go to `/dashboard/offer-tiers`).

You’ll also see a light check in **[Retention Health](./retention-health.md)** when Shopify orders exist but no published page uses team tiers yet.

---

## Analyzing orders

Opening Offer Tiers does **not** scan your orders. The page shows the **latest analysis run** (status, timings, and results). Click **Analyze orders** (or **Re-run analysis**) to queue a background job. While it runs you’ll see a progress bar, the current step, buyer counts, and per-step timings.

You can still save **manual** bands before the first run finishes. Band evidence (buyer count, revenue share, rationale) comes from the latest succeeded run—re-run analysis after changing breakpoints if you want those numbers refreshed.

## How bands are chosen

Last Chance sums non-cancelled Shopify order totals per customer email (the same CLV used on the live unsubscribe page). It:

- Uses your store’s **majority currency** (orders in other currencies are excluded and noted)
- Ignores guest checkouts with no email (same as live CLV)
- Suggests 2–4 bands from buyer percentiles, rounded to familiar amounts ($50, $100, …)
- Recommends **higher percent off for higher CLV**, capped at 20% (you can type 0–100%). **0%** means that band does not mint a code and uses the page’s fallback discount.

Each band shows **buyer count**, **share of revenue**, typical CLV / AOV, and a short rationale. The histogram is capped near the 99th percentile so a few wholesale outliers don’t flatten the chart. Hover a column to see that bucket’s CLV range, buyer count, and matching discount band.

Labels are half-open ranges that match evaluation: someone with $49.50 CLV is in **$0 – under $50**, not the next band.

---

## Editing and saving

- Change breakpoints and percents in the table. **Reset to recommended** copies the latest suggestion from the last succeeded analysis.
- **Save tiers** stores the team policy. If published pages already use team tiers, the **next** stay-reward mint uses the new percents immediately (you’ll be asked to confirm). Codes already issued to a visitor are not rewritten.
- Keep a **static fallback discount** on each page for mint failures or a 0% band.

---

## Applying to unsubscribe pages

On Offer Tiers, select pages and **Apply to selected**. That turns on dynamic Shopify discounts and sets the page to **Use team offer tiers**.

- The editor loads the latest draft; live traffic uses the **published** version. Apply updates both when they differ so your next editor save doesn’t revert to custom rules.
- New pages default to team tiers when Shopify is connected and tiers are saved. Pick a fallback code in the create wizard.
- To A/B **discount amounts**, switch that page to **Custom rules for this page**. Team mode is one shared policy.
- If a page is set to team tiers before any bands are saved, its stays fall back to the page’s static discount code. Retention Health flags this.
- Pages with **no fallback code** are marked in the list, and applying to one asks you to confirm: a 0% band or a failed mint would leave those visitors with no offer at all.

## Shopify order sync

Recommendations improve after a **historical order sync**. Incomplete history is a warning, not a blocker. If **Settings → Shopify** shows order storage as on, run the sync from there. If it is off, order storage is not available for your team right now and CLV-based tiers stay empty until it is.
